  3. Decision time again. With the PC version of GTA 5 finally launching next week, we look at the pros and cons of making a permanent GTA Online character transfer from console. Should you buy the PC version of GTA 5 next week? Of course you should, assuming you have the gear to run it properly. But buying the latest version and permanently transferring your progress over from GTA Online are separate concerns. You can move your characters from any of the previous console versions, but there’s no going back. Once it’s done it’s done, and your virtual crime doll will have a new home until, presumably, GTA 6 comes along. So. Should you transfer your existing GTA 5 game to PC? As with all the things, the answer depends on your circumstances. The decision will be made depending on both your history and current playing relationship with GTA 5. Check our reasoning below and see if you’re going to be making the jump next week. Before we start, we’re asking here if you should transfer your GTA Online game permanently from console to PC. If the question is, “Should I buy GTA 5 on PC?”, then the answer is yes. You can play the PC version as if you’ve never played it before, starting the campaign from scratch and launching a new career in GTA Online. Your existing GTA Online status will remain unaffected on PS4, Xbox One, PS3 or Xbox 360. But should PC become the new home for your treasured console toons? There are a bunch of reasons why and why not, so think carefully before you make the leap. The short answer, as you’ll see in the conclusion below, is to try the PC version and wait until you’re completely sure it’s the right move for you. Mull the following. Should you permanently transfer your GTA 5 Online character to the PC version? Yes, if: You’re deadly serious about having GTA Online in 4K resolution: GTA 5′s PC version grants 4K resolution and triple monitor support, making it by far the most graphically expansive version of Rockstar’s masterpiece. If the only acceptable future for your maxed character is across three screens on your desktop, then away you go.You want GTA Online in 60fps: If the 30fps you get on the Xbox One and PS4 versions regularly offends your need to have all your games as beautifully presented as possible, you may need to move your existing GTA Online activities over to PC. In this case, however, we’d absolutely recommend starting a fresh character and putting in some hours before making the permanent switch. As powerful as your frame-based morals are, you may simply not like playing GTA 5 on PC.You’re a modder: This one’s a no-brainer. If you’re a serious modder and you’re plans to apply your skills to GTA 5 for fun, fame and potential glory outweigh your need to be surrounded by existing social networks to complete heists and other in-game activities, you should seriously consider making the permanent trip to PC. You can’t mod the Xbox One version, after all. You’re a keen Snapmatic, video or documentary creative: This one’s going to ultimately rest on whether or not your work revolves around being with friends unable or unwilling to make the transition to the desktop, but the GTA 5′s PC version is, without debate, the best-looking incarnation. As well as having the best resolution and “graphics,” the PC version comes with a platform-exclusive video editing suite and, obviously, the highest frame-rate. The best-looking media will come from the PC version. If you want to be in with a shot of creating it, you’ll need to think seriously about importing all your cash, vehicles and weapons. You’ve only played GTA 5 casually on consoles: You bought the PS360 version in 2013, got halfway through the campaign, started a GTA Online character, did some half-arsed levelling then went to the pub. Then it launched on PS4 and Xbox One and you did something similar and grabbed a few more levels. You should probably port to PC, assuming you have a decent rig. You don’t really care about existing social aspects, you don’t have strong roots in any of the previous versions and you have a non-maxed avatar you never look at anymore. Porting it over will just save time as you continue to play. No, if: You’ve been playing GTA 5 regularly since 2013: If you’ve been battering GTA 5 for the past two years, the PC version is going to be little more than a technical novelty. You may well be over rank 200 and have only just juggled with the decision to either move your GTA Online progress to PS4 or Xbox One. Don’t transfer to PC. In all likelihood, you’re going to find yourself standing in a pretty wasteland. Get the new version, goggle at the visuals then get back to business on your console of choice. You’re a heavy GTA Online player: It’s difficult to recommend a permanent character transfer to PC if you’ve already dropped hundreds (thousands?) of hours on console leveling. The next-gen versions of GTA Online are only now starting to fully populate. It could take many months for the PC version to come to life. You don’t know how well the online side of GTA 5′s going to perform on PC any more than anyone else, and you have no idea whether or not there’s going to be a solid community of players elsewhere. Try the PC version, of course, but you’ll need hours of play on a new toon before you’re ready to decide whether or not to port high level characters from console. You’re already part of an active, entrenched community: If you’re part of an established crew and all your friends are playing on a specific console platform, transferring to PC wholesale is as logical as sleeping backwards. Wait. If your regular buddies all make the leap together, then consider it. If not, don’t.You’ve already made the jump to next-gen consoles: You may well have only just bumped up to PS4 or Xbox One, and you’ve probably waded through endless hours of loading screens and connection failures to rebuild your crew in a new shiny home. Do it again after only a few months? Nope. Stay put and see what happens. If the PC version and its community explodes into life in the coming weeks and months, then you can make a joint decision about where to spend your time. Until it does, don’t make any rash decisions. Conclusion: You don’t have to permanently transfer your GTA Online character from console to PC in order to play the new version next week. Start a new character in GTA Online from scratch. Given there’s no requirement for you to make a forever jump, we recommend you get the PC version and play it until you’re absolutely sure of your preferred GTA 5 playing environment before porting a high level avatar. Should you decide to port from, say, PS4 to PC, there’s no return. Don’t press the button unless you’re absolutely sure it’s what you want. 4. We complained that GTA Online was tight with its cash. Now the Daily Objectives are handing out millions for the simplest of tasks. “if a random players sends you a request to join a job you rarely play – or even sets a mugger on you – get involved and help a brother (or sister) out.” Introduced with the Heists update last month, Daily Objectives are a simple set of three tasks that once completed hand the player a tidy sum of $25,000 a day and 3,000 RP. Complete these dailies over seven consecutive days and you’ll receive extra rewards – a bonus $100,000 and 15,000 RP. Stick with it for a whole 28 days straight and you’re looking at an additional payout of $500,000 and 50,000 RP. As some players are now finding out 28 days after the Heists update launched, completing dailies, weeklies and a monthly amounts to a total reward of $1.6 million and 194,000 RP. In short, daily players are ranking up and folding bank for the simplest of tasks in a game that was previously criticised for being stingy with cash and RP. Some daily objectives really are easy, where all three can be completed in 10 minutes. Going to the movies, compete in a parachute race or robbing a store won’t challenge anyone. Others have been designed to get people playing the new Adversary modes, or modes that aren’t that popular, like a vehicle deathmatch. But some are proving more problematic. Challenging another player to a 1-on-1 deathmatch can be tricky if you’re playing with strangers. I’d recommend playing with friends or using in-game text to ask if another player in free-roam will help you out. Chances are they will, because despite popular belief, the GTA Online community is helpful and friendly. Some challenges could be considered a grind. Killing 20 players means you’ve got to put 30 – 60 minutes into a regular Deathmatch (that includes the notoriously long load times) if you’re an average player. And then there’s the Stunt Jump issue. The objective to perform a Stunt Jump seems to come up fairly often – I’ve had it three times since Heists released – but it appears that you have to complete a Stunt Jump you haven’t previously mastered. If you repeat a Stunt Jump you’ve already landed successfully in GTA Online it won’t register as a completed Daily Objective. This makes some sense because repeating the same easy jump wouldn’t be any challenge at all. But it’s obviously a problem for players who have completed all Stunt Jumps in GTAO as it stops dead a consecutive run of dailies and resets the 28 day challenge. Rockstar hasn’t yet acknowledged the problem, which only fuels the anger of players who are rightly extremely upset off that they can’t complete their dailies and continue to rack up the higher rewards. Until Rockstar fixes it, it’s the one sour note to a list of Daily Objectives that have improved the game significantly. Dailies have brought an added incentive to play, a healthy chunk of RP farming and a nice cash injection to GTA Online. If a random player sends you a request to join a job you rarely play – or even sets a mugger on you – get involved and help a brother (or sister) out. 5. Producer Oh No takes us through the creation and years worth of work behind the Grand Theft Auto 5 score. Scoring a video game is way more work. Everything has to be exactly right, it has to match visuals. Thats a big difference compared to working with an artist whos like gimmie a beat for the streets. Everyone has their own favourite radio station in Grand Theft Auto. Even the vehicles have their dials pre-set to a particular channel. Steal a mafia Sentinel and youll hear Double Clef FM as you step over a bleeding goon. GTAs radio stations have been the soundtrack to Vice City, San Andreas and Liberty City. But when Rockstar reimagined Los Santos and Blaine County for GTA 5 it pushed for an original score that plays more often than any radio station. Just as the radio offers music for every taste, this new soundtrack was designed to capture multiple musical styles, each reflecting the three main protagonists of the game, created by artists with different but complimentary backgrounds. Hip-hop production duo Oh No and Alchemist were charged with representing the sound of the streets for the youngest character, Franklin. German electronic music pioneers Tangerine Dream captured Michaels midlife crisis and subsequent re-awakening. And long-time Rockstar collaborator Woody Jackson (L.A. Noire, Red Dead Redemption) picked up its most complicated character, the psychopath with mother issues, Trevor Phillips. Franklin is heavily into hip-hop so we were knocking that kind of stuff out, Woody Jackson would handle the rock stuff for Trevor and Tangerine Dream did all the ill synths, says Oh No from his studio in Los Angeles. The way we worked was everyone was turning in music that we thought would fit without seeing the game. So I was watching videos of Grand Theft Auto 4 and making beats. And then Rockstar got us to hook up with the musicians and just start vibing together with Woody. Then Tangerine would come over and layer it up. The result was then mixed down by DJ Shadow, adding another layer to the first ever full original score in the GTA series. Oh Nos star in hip-hop has been steady rising for over a decade. His musical family includes brother Madlib, but hes long since carved out his own sounds with well-received work (including the Gangrene project with Alchemist) as well as material from De La Soul, Guilty Simpson and MF DOOM. While Oh No clearly holds hip-hop chops hes also a full-on video game player, something that bubbled up in The Ride, a track constructed entirely from video game samples. Im a big gamer so anytime a video game is involved Im 1,000 percent behind it. Im a bigger gamer than a musician at times, he says. GTA 5 wasnt Oh Nos first time working with Rockstar. Partner Alchemist who worked on GTA Chinatown Wars introduced Oh No to the studio, and he ended up laying down drum tracks on Red Dead Redemption: Undead Nightmare. Drums are central to any hip-hop record, but scoring a game is a far cry from knocking together a head-nodding track on demand. Undead Nightmare helped me do Grand Theft Auto 5, because there were a lot of drums I had to switch and change up in that, he says. Scoring a video game is way more work. Everything has to be exactly right, it has to match visuals. Thats a big difference compared to working with an artist whos like gimmie a beat for the streets. I want something to ride to. That beat might only have eight elements in it compared to a score that brings in strings and horns and then different musicians making it extra big on top. Part of the difficulty was working in the dark during those early stages, says Oh No. While GTA 4 acted as a substitute to begin with, finally seeing GTA 5 helped to bring the sounds together. Those different elements needed to work as a cohesive whole, but also when pulled apart and played independently to reflect the changes in dynamic gameplay. We had a meeting and Rockstar showed us some videos. From there we knew where we had to go with it. We were working on music that was super-dark. Once we saw exactly what they needed we realised it had to be more structured. When Im making a beat at first it might have 20 elements in it, but when its finished there might be 100 elements in that beat. Rockstar would call up and say weve got this scene where youre driving and you have to take the car offroad to a boat. So we need a water beat. Im making all these musical elements that can be played together or played apart, and at any time. About halfway into it we got to fly to New York and play a bunch of missions and see how it worked. From that I knew exactly what I needed to put here and there. For certain missions I would listen to old soundtracks. 48 Hours, A Clockwork Orange, crazy movies with ill scoring. It had me listening to all kinds of stuff from the 70s and 80s. The complicated and changing nature of the score made it a big project. Oh No estimates he made around 130 different tracks overall. At least ten of them got fully fleshed out, he says. Within those ten beats theres another ten beats. So you play them and theres multiple drum tracks. It was literally a years worth of work. From 6 am to 3 am non-stop. It wasnt just Oh Nos hip-hop knowledge that was channeled through the score. As with any musical project for Rockstar, theres influences from different decades and genres in the overall sound. For certain missions I would listen to old soundtracks, he says. 48 Hours, A Clockwork Orange, crazy movies with ill scoring. It had me listening to all kinds of stuff from the 70s and 80s. But once we had a bunch of dark beats wed realise we also needed something funky. So Id try to channel some Fred Wesly with a little Van Halen and some Parliament. And thats how I would make the beat go into the mindstate with those in my head. Since scoring the game, Oh No and Alchemist have put together a brand new radio station for the PC release, called The Lab. The radio stations are definitely a massive plus, he says. Its one of my favourite things about GTA. When youre driving you want to be comfortable and listen to the kind of music you want to hear. They have so many different genres of music as well as talk radio. You can drive through a whole city and just trip off it. It sets the tone as much as the story. Rockstars love of music has always been evident in the radio stations it creates. It has iconic performers hosting the shows from Public Enemys Chuck D to Circle Jerks Keith Morris and not only includes genre-defining tracks but also the original music that inspired them. Its a history lesson as much as a mirror to current tastes. Their whole team is so diverse and they know music, says Oh No. They know whats current, they know whats classic, they know whats popular. They know it like they know their games. The Alchemist and Oh No present: Welcome to Los Santos is available on CD, vinyl and digital formats from April 21. 6. Rockstar has pumped out 15 new screens for the PC version of Grand Theft Auto 5. Dont touch them, because theyre electric. And if you touch them, youll get shocked. The PC version of GTA 5 has been delayed until April 14, which both sucks and blows. BUT! Theres a new trailer coming between now and then and Rockstar has confirmed that it will be releasing a new Rockstar Editor so players can create their own movies using game footage. Have some this, flyboy. Source: http://www.vg247.com...s-****-the-bed/ Click here to view the article

  13. The easiest way to boost some platinum awards in order to unlock tattoos, would be to boost one-on-one deathmatches, and trade off wins. You can earn XP from completing X number of kills with a certain weapon, killstreaks, and winning deathmatches. Its, slow, but the safest and surest way to complete some of the harder platinum challenges. and if anyone wants to boost the challenges to unlock some of the harder tattoos in GTA online, send me a message or add me. my GT is Clntron420.
