  1. CALL OF DUTY WW2 RELEASE DATE, MULTIPLAYER, BETA AND ALL THE LATEST NEWS Call of Duty: WW2's campaign received an action-packed trailer last month, as well as confirming a multiplayer beta for players who pre-order ahead of its November 3 release date on PS4, Xbox One and PC. We haven't yet seen any multiplayer gameplay yet, though, that will arrive at E3 2017. TrustedReviews has collected all the latest news including details of the campaign, multiplayer, Nazi Zombies, and how to get access to the upcoming multiplayer beta. WHAT IS CALL OF DUTY: WW2? Call of Duty: WW2 is the next entry in the blockbuster shooter franchise. Developed by Sledgehammer Games, this latest installment will take players to a variety of historical battle locations set across the second world war. The solo campaign will follow the US 1st Infantry Division as they fight their way across Europe during the height of the bloody conflict. Missions will span from the D-Day Beach Landings to the Battle of the Bulge. Playing primarily as the inexperienced Private Daniels, there will also be a mission that puts you in the shoes of a woman fighting in the French Resistance. The solo campaign will contain plenty of other characters, too. It is clear Sledgehammer wants to tell a detailed, accurate story regarding the infamous historical event. "Call of Duty: WWII tells the story of heroism on a global scale, through the unbreakable brotherhood of common men fighting to preserve freedom in a world on the brink of tyranny. Players enlist in a gritty, intense campaign through the harrowing battlegrounds of war, facing overwhelming odds and hostile terrain across Europe, in a gripping experience that honors the history of World War II," explains Activision. Transformers actor Josh Duhamel is set to star in the game, so Call of Duty has its yearly dose of starpower sorted. A multiplayer reveal is to come at E3 2017, which is when we'll also hear news on the upcoming beta. A Nazi Zombies co-op campaign mode has been teased, although we currently know little about it. It will contain an original story separate from the trials of Private Daniels as the Third Reich tries in vain to create an unstoppable army in the closing hours of World War 2. As expected, it all goes terribly wrong. CALL OF DUTY: WW2 RELEASE DATE – WHEN IS IT COMING OUT? Call of Duty: WWII will launch November 3 on PS4, Xbox One and PC. Those who pre-order will gain access to the upcoming multiplayer beta, although there's also an argument to be made for playing the waiting game, as there are likely to be some pretty tempting CoD bundles available during Black Friday 2017. CALL OF DUTY: WW2 MULTIPLAYER – WHAT'S NEW? While the big reveal isn't coming until E3 in June, we do have a few tiny details regarding the online multiplayer. Players will partake in brutal boots on the ground combat across some iconic World War 2 locales. One big new feature is Headquarters, an all new social tool allowing for creative modes of multiplayer interaction with your PS4, Xbox One and PC buddies. From what we've seen, it's a lot like Destiny's Tower or a hub area in Blizzard's World of Warcraft. Either way, it's nothing Call of Duty has done before. Say, for example, you've just prestiged for the first time. Headquarters is the perfect place to boast and celebrate, especially with a few friends along for the ride. Next up is Divisions. This changes the way you engage with your multiplayer career. Players can choose from a variety of different ones including Infantry and Armored Divisions. These will presumably come with their own individual perks depending on your rank. Finally, we have War Mode. A multiplayer experience that aims to immerse the player in iconic World War 2 battles. Allied and Axis powers will clash in team-based skirmishes where gaining objectives is the key to victory. It sounds much like Battlefield 1's Operations mode, where a contextual story inspired by real events is the drive for each battle. If true, you can expect these to be longer than your usual team deathmatch. CALL OF DUTY: WW2 MULTIPLAYER BETA – HOW DO I JOIN? Activision and Sledgehammer Games will be holding a multiplayer beta for Call of Duty: WW2 later this year ahead of its launch on November 3.The beta period is confirmed for PS4 and Xbox One, with no word yet on a PC rendition. To gain access to the beta you'll have the pre-order, though. 7. Source: Reddit Copied & Pasted to save me time... Ok, as far as I know, I'm the first to discover this. The Devs were pretty sneaky with this one. They hid ANOTHER secret under the secret dead ops button location in the data vault. I have no idea what this menu does, or what it can unlock, but this is how you get to it: Open the data vault.Go to top left area of the screen. You will be highlighting the weird "S" logo, and your cursor will disappear. (Hitting "X" , or "A"[X1] here will take you to the Dead Ops mode, although this is not at all necessary to get to the menu) Hold all of the Shoulder Buttons, then press { Square, then Triangle}, or { "X", then "Y"}This brings up the secret menu, where you can input text. Apart from that, I have no idea what this can do. Please post any codes you find, so we can all use them! Video is here: Edit: Screen Shot from the video Edit2: Featured on GearNuke -- Thanks for linking to my Youtube Channel, and Featuring the Vid! Nice to receive credit! Edit3: Alright. I have successfully entered in a code. It IS a cheat menu. Wow. What A wild ride this has been. I never would have thought that I would be the one to find this sort of stuff. Finding a hidden menu in a AAA title so early on is simply awesome. Let me tell all of you the funny story behind me finding this menu. So, me and my friends are trying to play campaign. 2 on one screen, 2 on another, same room. Lan party. Well, we all know the servers have been less than cooperative. We had a super hard time all getting online, and connected to the same lobby. We needed to be online because progress offline doesn't carry over to online, which is stupid. So. Server problems everywhere. Campaign hard crashes everytime we get a game over. My profile glitches, so that if I'm 1st player, no one can "press X to join splitscreen" anymore (and this problem remains, btw). So, after a frustrating first mission, we head to the safehouse, and play around in the datavault. One of my friends on the other console pulls up a "how to get dead ops arcade". We all get the instructions. They launch it fine. Me and my Wife's dead ops will not launch at all. We can't even get the little picture to pop up. Hitting the button on the blue "S" does nothing. So, in my frustration, I start mashing buttons. Guess what pops up? Yep. Secret Cheat Menu. What are the chances eh? We actually found this Friday night, but I waited until everyone left today to go back home to record and publish the secret. So there's the story of how I found the super secret cheat menu. It's also funny to see all these copy-cat videos pop up with misinformation in them as well. I've played with this menu all day, and have been snooping around the net, looking at the other videos. Apart from /u/mrroflwaffles, there have been several videos popping up using my method, without giving credit. Which is hilarious, because the button combination I gave is actually wrong. I don't care that these people are not giving credit. I know I discovered it (as far as I know. I can't find anything else on it. Correct me if I'm wrong). It's just silly. Let the little guy have his turn in the light eh? I get it, spread the word, find the codes, but a link to my video, channel, or a "This one dude on reddit found this:" would be cool. ....................................................................................................... Anyways, let's clear up some thingsAs I said, it IS a cheat menu. I haven't tested if it disables trophies/achievements. I can't see it being the case, as when I did enter a code, I wasn't given any warning about it disabling trophies. There are actually 2 button combinations. Hold R2/RT, and hit Square/X, then Triangle/Y, OR Hit Square/X, then Triangle/Y, then press R2/RT. No need to hold all of the shoulder buttons. Still unsure of PC button combos. There are absolutely no confirmation, noises, or any sort of visual/auditory feedback that you entered a cheat correctly. This sucks. We could have entered a bunch of codes already, and would never know. The code I entered was below the 10 character limit. I'm unsure if all codes are below that limit, but this one was. This leads me to believe that 10 character codes do not exist, since you cant actually hit OK or Cancel. I'm not sure why there is an issue with scrolling vertically past the letter "J". Start at the letter "C" and scroll down. It skips over "J". Does the same if you scroll up from "W". Also seems to happen when scrolling down from "B". It'll go down to "I", then skip "P", and go over to "Q". Doesn't work in reverse. Finally, the cheat codes are exactly that. There ARE cheats. They make the game MUCH easier. Well, at least the one I have used. I was going to keep the code a secret since it's the first code, and the game is still new, until someone else found another code, but I've changed my mind. Let's enjoy the hunt together, and play through the campaign how we want. Just be warned. The code is PERMANENT. No undoing it. Thanks again guys, you have all made my day today. I never would have thought that this would blow up the way it did. Working Codes: Code Description Image Proof Credit goes to: [ MANIFEST ] - The first confirmed code. Sets your Fabrication Kits to 100. Cannot be used again. Also Permanent. Proof Note: /u/Taemgas had trouble entering the code in Multiplayer/Splitscreen Campaign. I told him to try entering it in single player, and it worked. As of now, I am unsure if it simply doesn't work in Multiplayer/Splitscreen, or if it's just the campaign being buggy... again. 9. More Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 details surfaced overnight thanks to a leaked pamphlet with information pertaining to Zombies XP progression, four-player co-op and more. Posted on NeoGAF, the pamphlet the shooter will contain a new movement system, a Specialist character system for multiplayer, tailored maps, “cinematic arena-style play,” and complete character customization. The latter will allow the player to customize weapons, loadouts and outfits all of which contain a full progression system. You can have a look at the leaked pamphlet images through here. Yesterday, a leaked GameStop promo hit the Internet providing information on a PC and current-gen console beta with pre-order as well as November 6 release date. Activision will officially reveal the game tomorrow, April 26. Thanks, Gematsu. Source: http://www.vg247.com...-one-ps4-leaks/ Click here to view the article
  10. Fans of Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare multiplayer mode, should be careful after one of the game's developers said that they could face a ban if they continue to adopt a 'cheating' tactic. Dubbed as the 'reverse boost', it involves the player killing themselves in a match, usually by holding a grenade too long to blow themselves up. As a result, the matchmaking service then drops them into future rounds with lower level players. Then the hustle is on as they show off their real skills during the next round, making fools out of the 'lesser players'. The boss of Sledgehammer who made the game posted in a blog: "It's gotten so bad that one of the developers has become a 'victim' of the trick and has threatened those who use the trick for an unfair advantage with a ban from the online game." "Playing at home, I've been randomly matched with players doing this and it's incredibly frustrating to lose based largely on my team being down a contributing teammate. We've also had a lot of players bring up their same concern about playing in matches with these players." "No one wants to lose an objective based match by effectively being outnumbered while their teammate shoots grenades into their own forehead 100 times in the corner. It's not right, and it hurts you and your team's online experience... and we have increased our focus on reverse boost banning to combat the growing issue." "No one is trying to restrict the fun factor of playing Advanced Warfare with this policy, nor are we actively banning against particular styles of play, like trick shots. However, we have a low tolerance approach to people who ruin the experience for others through cheating, boosting, reverse boosting or being caught with toxic emblems in game." -Michael Condrey So be careful if using this tactic, because you may not re-spawn the next time you blow yourself up. 11. Titanfall 2 goes multiformat, Call of Duty goes on holiday and VR goes into the bin. What’s going to happen to games in 2015? Now that the dandruff has settled on the shoulders of 2014, we can start making wild predictions about next year. It’s pretty obvious we’re going to see the usual suspects announced and rumoured for 2015 – The Last Guardian at E3, a Gears of War reboot for Xbox One, Assassin’s Creed Rogue for new-gen consoles – but away from those, what could really kick video games up the jacksie in 2015? Call of Duty takes a year off It’s been a better year for Call of Duty than you’d realise. Sledgehammer’s take on the series produced a bombastic and contemporary single-player game, and despite sticking to a well-worn formula it was enough to banish the stain of Ghosts. But it’s the multiplayer of Advanced Warfare that’s been brave enough to shake up the system, adding double-jumps and better loadout customisation to really cater to the core crowd. Despite the invigoration from Sledgehammer and support from Activision, the series is still suffering from franchise fatigue with lower sales and a general lack of interest in a year where every shooter has been under Destiny’s shadow. Call of Duty needs a rest year. It would be a big move from Activision, but its success with Destiny and Hearthstone this year have proven it can make money from other big games outside of its usual pillars. Instead of a full-price release Activision could continue to back Sledgehammer with a collection of DLC later in the year, building on all the good work it’s done with Advanced Warfare so far. The last thing Call of Duty needs right now is Ghosts 2 or Black Ops 3 kicking down the door of weary players. Titanfall 2 goes multiformat Titanfall was a big release earlier in 2014, but it was all but drowned out by the hype and sales of Destiny only months later. It’s a great shooter that distinguishes itself with two types of gameplay, it has enough spectacle to draw in a cynical FPS crowd and despite the daunting look of the Titans it’s remarkably accessible. There’s no doubt that Titanfall was a credible hit, then, and there’s surely a sequel in the works. What it needs to do is address its two major issues – the lack of single-player game and its console exclusivity. Although Xbox One sales are picking up, EA backed the wrong horse when it shook hands with MS, leaving a lot of sales of the first Titanfall on the table. If it gets a sequel on PS4 as well as Xbox One (and PC) Titanfall will have a good chance of standing up to its nearest sci-fi shooting rival. Destiny is also a multiplayer experience but its story and co-op missions are on a smaller scale, giving the player a more personal experience in a larger world. There’s more to explore and do in Destiny, whereas Titanfall is much more old-fashioned in it’s approach to maps and combat choices. Titanfall doesn’t need a single-player game in the style of Call of Duty, but it needs co-op, more freedom of choice and wider exploration. The story may have been weak, but Respawn has done a great job of building an interesting world. Now it needs to build a sense of scale and let players loose. Watch Dogs becomes the new Assassin’s Creed It’s inevitable that Watch Dogs will get a sequel – those that think Watch Dogs “failed” because it didn’t live up to some preconceived idea is just nonsense. It may have only been a good game and not great, but that’s because Ubisoft is a company that takes its time to iterate on games yearly. The first Assassin’s Creed game wasn’t that good either. But the second game was brilliant, remains one of the best in the series, and established it as a killer franchise for the publisher. Expect the same to happen with Watch Dogs 2. You’re right to criticise Ubi for releasing a very similar game year-over-year, but it does so in order to refine and rebuild until it gets it right. Xbox One will spoon PS4 The Xbox One has been trailing in the wake of PS4 almost all year, but in November it managed to break Sony’s dominance. Now it’s at a much more realistic price, we should expect sales of both consoles to dance around each other for the rest of 2015. Where Microsoft needs to win more is in the PR and marketing. Sony seems to be revealing more games on a regular basis – something its huge PR event The PlayStation Experience illustrated the other week. Sony is taking these things in its own hands rather than wait for the industry’s usual round of marketing opportunities at E3, Gamescom, TGS, PAX and EGX. Microsoft is catching up with the numbers but it also needs to win hearts and minds. The Wii U continues to drift along its own path You can buy the Wii U for bargain prices now and with some very good games to boot. Next year we may see a new Zelda release and titles like Mario Maker will help it keep afloat. But the third-party support continues to dry up, and the Wii U isn’t spoken about in the same excited tones as the other two big consoles. The Wii U is fine. It’s doing okay. It didn’t die and it’ll stick around for another couple of years, but it hasn’t made a big impact in any wider context of the games business. Publishers were right to be wary of it. It will continue to drift along with guidance from its Nintendo masters, but as much as it’s unique it’s also aloof, not very willing to play the games everyone else is playing, for better and for worse. VR follows Steam Machines into the bin Remember Steam Machines? Some have actually been released with little or no fanfare. It’s probably due to the continued resurgence of home consoles. Valve was too late on that one. I feel the same about VR technology too. Facebook buying Oculus Rift took the wind out of those sails, with VR morphing into a social and entertainment experiment rather than a pure games thing. Other attempts like Samsung’s Gear VR seem like novelty at best. Even Sony’s Project Morpheus is years away, or worse, the new 3DTV. Will PS4 games honestly be improved for the better with VR? I doubt it. VR in games is the new microconsole, the new 3DTV, the new Steam Machine. A good idea that not enough people want and few are willing to invest in. 13. Sledgehammer Games is working on the next Call of Duty, and according to Activision’s Eric Hirshberg, the game will be developed primarily for next-gen consoles. In an interview with IGN, Activision’s publishing CEO, Eric Hirshberg, shed some light on how Sledgehammer is handling the development of the next Call of Duty. “Sledgehammer is approaching this as a next-gen-first development. “Obviously in the console-transition year, anyone who developed a cross-generational game last year had to deal with the fact that the technology of the next-gen platforms was still coming into focus and changing quite a bit during the development process…. Now that we have the next-gen hardware out in the marketplace and solid, that is our primary development,” he added. This follows Activision-Blizzard’s latest financial report, during which they announced that the franchise will be handled by three studios going forward, Infinity Ward, Treyarch and now Sledgehammer. The publisher also announced that each game will now be moved to a three-year development cycle, instead of the usual two-year cycle. Hirshberg commented about that saying, “with the level of content we were putting in the games, it became a real horse race each and every time to get everything done that we wanted to get done, we’ve got more capabilities [with next-gen] than ever before to play with and we want to make sure our developers have the time to innovate, iterate, to bring the best creative vision and the most possible polish to each and every game.” Do you expect this year’s Call of Duty to be better for it? 16. Activision has detailed a couple of new options for grabbing a next-gen version of Call of Duty: Ghosts for those who purchase a PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 copy. As detailed in a website update, Xbox fans have the option to purchase a “disc-less dual license” through the Xbox Game Ahead Program. Available through participating retailers at an RRP of $70, it offers two digital copies of Call of Duty: Ghosts – one for Xbox 360, and one for Xbox One – tied to a specific gamertag. The same deal is available through the Xbox live Marketplace, by purchasing the Xbox 360 version for $50 and then paying out $10 for the Xbox One version. The PS3 version is eligible for a similar deal, whether you pick it up at retail or through the PlayStation Store; for a limited time, all store-bought copies will come with a download code unlocking a $10 version for PS4. Exact prices for these deals will vary by territory, with a €10 and £10 upgrade price suggested for Europe and the UK respectively. One definite detail is that all upgrade deals must be redeemed by the end of March 2014, though. These new options are in addition to various retailer offers, which allow purchasers in various territories to grab a PS4 or Xbox One copy for $10, on top of the purchase price of the original. A full breakdown is available on the page linked above. Call of Duty: Ghosts is due on PC, PS3, Wii U and Xbox 360 on November 5, with PS4 and Xbox One versions coming when the new console launches. 19. Activision has uploaded the full 30 minute Ghosts All Access event to YouTube. Call of Duty® brought E3 to its fans early. Geoff Keighley and Justine Ezarik hosted the Call of Duty®: Ghosts – All Access, a live, 30-minute broadcast featuring an exclusive first look at gameplay levels from the title, as well as exclusive behind the scenes footage, interviews with the Infinity Ward team, and more Activision has also issued a press release; here’s a quote from Mark Rubin: “Our new tech is allowing us to deliver an absolutely stunning next generation Call of Duty experience on Xbox One, PS4 and PC, but that’s not all. The Xbox 360 and PS3 versions will reap the benefits of our new tech as well, which we believe will make this the most striking Call of Duty game ever created, regardless of what platform our fans choose,” said Infinity Ward, executive producer, Mark Rubin. 20. Call of Duty creator Infinaty Ward seriously considered working on something completely new after Modern Warfare 3 before eventually deciding to stick with the series. In an interview with MVC, executive producer Mark Rubin explained that deciding to move on to a new game with a new engine, characters and even a new world wasn't settled upon quickly. "Not a hard decision, but a long decision," he explained. "We don’t get a chance when making a game to think about the next one until we are done actually making that first game. "So when we finished Modern Warfare 3, we had this big brainstorming session that lasted for weeks. Everybody gets to come up with ideas of what we want to do, not just what game we want to do, but moments in games. "We all really knew we wanted to continue making Call of Duty. We could have done something else, but we wanted to make Call of Duty and we wanted to create a new universe, or a new story at least. We wanted new characters and new experiences. "The easy thing would have been – as we had finished the arc of Modern Warfare 1, 2 and 3 – to start a new arc within that same universe. That was the first step. But due to a lot of the changes we wanted to make with this new world, it really dictated out that we needed to make something that wasn’t Modern Warfare." As it stands at the moment, Infinity Ward alternates making entries in the Call of Duty series with Treyarch, the studio responsible for last year's Black Ops II. It's unclear what would have happened if they'd decided to pass up making a new Call of Duty game; would Activision have brought in a new developer or would the series have had to miss an annualised entry? source: http://www.ign.com/a...-modern-warfare
